Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Auto Air Muffler & Brake City at (813) 887-3339; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 187 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded muffler & exhaust shops in Tampa.
Tampa is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tampa follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They don’t know how to treat people, and they are irresponsible. I’m not saying this to harm anyone, but they wasted my time and did not give me the level of attention a customer deserves.

Absolutely cannot say enough about Jeff Groves. He's a fantastic mechanic and honest businessman. Don't let the exterior fool you Auto Air Muffler & Brake City is first rate. He installed a completely new exhaust system and brakes job on my 1976 Datsun 208z. It runs like brand new. I am embarrassed to say there were a few tweaks that needed to be done (owner neglect) He just took care of them free of charge because he said he could not let the car leave his shop knowing there was a problem. Thank you Jeff and Brake City!!!!!!

I recently had my brakes repaired on my Ford Explorer and I could not be happier with the experience! I called and they were able to fit me in the very next day, which I really appreciated. What really impressed me was that when I came to pick up my car, they actually showed me the old brake pads and rotors that were removed. That kind of transparency means everything because it showed me exactly why the repair was needed and that the work was actually done. The service from start to finish was amazing and I will definitely be coming back for any future repairs. Highly recommend! :)

Brought my Audi here and in less than a day I got it back. Even though my car was a pain I never got such a fair price. Also very trust worthy to bring your car to and fixed my exhaust issue with no issue. Amazing will definitely be going back if anything else happens.

10/10 would recommend to everyone I know. Amazing shop. Knowledgeable, fair priced, they communicate very well. I had called about a water pump leak/failure on my car, another place wanted to charge me an exorbitant amount of money (in my eyes, of course), but not this shop. They even ordered the correct not just any aftermarket part for my car ahead of time. I unfortunately ended up not having the work done here, ONLY because my water pump was covered under my extended warranty that I found out after calling Auto Air Muffler & Brake City. If it wasn’t covered I’d be going here for the problem. They were so understanding, helpful, and I will 100% be coming here for any other issues not covered under warranty with this lemon of a car I purchased.
